Metrofibre plans to expand its network to reach more homes and businesses across South Africa. By 2025, Metrofibre hopes to pass an additional 500,000 homes, enhancing connectivity and ensuring more South Africans have access to high-speed internet. Metrofibre is committed to increasing its penetration rate, focusing on organic growth and strategic acquisitions. The fibre network operator (FNO) aims to pass 85,000 to 100,000 more homes in 2023 alone, building on its previous expansion efforts that saw over 140,000 homes connected last year.
In addition to expanding its footprint, Metrofibre is developing unique solutions for emerging and underserved markets, including prepaid fibre options that cater to residents who require periodic connectivity. These efforts are part of Metrofibre’s strategy to grow its market share and provide tailored solutions to meet the diverse needs of its customers.
