What you get on Mitsol fibre
Webafrica no longer resells Mitsol. We verified this against Webafrica's own live product catalogue on 22 September 2026: it returns 232 packages across 26 networks, and Mitsol is not among them. We have withdrawn the Mitsol package we used to list here rather than leave a price on a product that cannot be bought.
Mitsol itself is still an open-access network connecting homes and complexes across South Africa. What has changed is which ISPs sell over it, not whether the fibre exists. If Mitsol is the network at your address, the line is still there.
If you came here looking for a Mitsol deal, the table above is the answer: Afrihost still sells the line, 14 packages from R587/month. Our Mitsol network page covers the footprint in more detail, and our main comparison pages put those prices against every other network. If you specifically want Webafrica, they still carry Vumatel, Openserve, Octotel, Frogfoot, MetroFibre, Zoom, Evotel and Vuma Reach.
Why pick Mitsol via Webafrica
A quick look at what makes the Mitsol network, paired with Webafrica as the ISP, a strong combination for South African homes and businesses.
What we checked
Webafrica's own product API, on 22 September 2026. Four different Mitsol slug spellings all returned an empty result, and the word "mitsol" appears nowhere in the full catalogue.
Mitsol still exists
The network is unchanged. This is about Webafrica's range, not about Mitsol's fibre being switched off.
Your line is not affected
If you are already on a Mitsol line through Webafrica, nothing here says your service has stopped. Check with Webafrica directly about your own account.
Open access cuts both ways
Because Mitsol is open-access, an ISP leaving the network does not strand the infrastructure. Another ISP can sell over the same line.
Where to look instead
Afrihost sells 14 live Mitsol packages, listed above. Our Mitsol network page covers the footprint; the main deals table compares every live package we track across all seven ISPs.
We will update this
If Webafrica adds Mitsol back, it will reappear in the catalogue check and this page goes back to listing deals.
Every Mitsol line at a glance
Mitsol runs from R587 to R1 547 here, and the best value on it is 1000/500 Mbps Uncapped at R1.40/Mbps - 21.0x better per megabit than 20/20 Mbps Uncapped at R29.35. The cheapest rung and the best-value rung are rarely the same one.

Mitsol from R587/mo
That is the 20/20 Mbps Uncapped line, and no ISP we track sells Mitsol cheaper at that speed. Coverage is the only thing left to check, and it is decided by your street rather than your preference.
What a year actually costs
None of the 14 Mitsol lines here runs a promotional rate, so the advertised price is the standing one - what changes the 12-month ranking is the once-off fee. Over 12 months the order happens to hold, which is worth knowing too.
| # | Package | Advertised | Reverts to | Once-off | 12-month total | Effective /mo | Rank on cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | AfrihostMitsol · 20/20 Mbps | R587 | — | R997 | R8 041 | R670+R997 vs advertised | 1 |
| 2 | AfrihostMitsol · 30/15 Mbps | R597 | — | R997 | R8 161 | R680+R997 vs advertised | 2 |
| 3 | AfrihostMitsol · 30/30 Mbps | R617 | — | R997 | R8 401 | R700+R997 vs advertised | 3 |
| 4 | AfrihostMitsol · 50/25 Mbps | R687 | — | R997 | R9 241 | R770+R997 vs advertised | 4 |
| 5 | AfrihostMitsol · 60/30 Mbps | R697 | — | R997 | R9 361 | R780+R997 vs advertised | 5 |
| 6 | AfrihostMitsol · 60/60 Mbps | R717 | — | R997 | R9 601 | R800+R997 vs advertised | 6 |
| 7 | AfrihostMitsol · 120/60 Mbps | R827 | — | R997 | R10 921 | R910+R997 vs advertised | 7 |
| 8 | AfrihostMitsol · 120/120 Mbps | R927 | — | R997 | R12 121 | R1 010+R997 vs advertised | 8 |
A once-off installation or activation charge is paid once, so it weighs on year one and not on year two. Where a line wins on the advertised rate but loses over twelve months, check how long you expect to keep it, and compare on effective monthly cost rather than on the headline. Next: every ISP's 20 Mbps deals.
And over two years
Stretch the same Mitsol pool to 24 months and the promo stops mattering: the standing rate is nearly the whole bill, and on this network the ordering survives it. This is the view that counts if you are not planning to move.

Mitsol on Webafrica , quick answers
The honest verdict
3 reasons to buy Mitsol here and 2 reasons not to, every one computed from the 14 packages above. They move when the prices do.
Afrihost on Mitsol is the right buy if…
- Your address shows Mitsol coverageCoverage decides this before price does. We track 14 verified Afrihost packages on Mitsol, from R587/mo for 20/20 Mbps Uncapped up to 1000 Mbps.
- You want the cheapest seller on this networkNo ISP we track undercuts R587 on Mitsol at 20/20 Mbps Uncapped, so the entry line here is the market floor rather than a mid-table price.
- You upload as much as you download7 of the 14 lines here are symmetrical, which is what matters for video calls, cloud backups and streaming out rather than in.
Who should look elsewhere
- Your address does not show MitsolThen none of the 14 prices above can help you, and comparing them is wasted effort. Coverage is decided by which network reached your street, not by which ISP you prefer - check the address first, then come back to price.
- You are buying on value per megabit, not on monthly priceThe cheapest line here is not the best value: 20/20 Mbps Uncapped works out at R29.35/Mbps against R1.40/Mbps for 1000/500 Mbps Uncapped - 21.0x the price per megabit. If a bigger line fits the budget, it buys far more per rand.
