    What is Frogfoot on Fibre?

Frogfoot is the residential fibre arm of the Vox group - built and run independently as an open-access wholesale network, with multiple ISPs reselling on top. The footprint covers chunks of all four major metros (Cape Town, Joburg, Pretoria, Durban) and is one of the few networks to also offer a fixed-wireless product (Frogfoot Air) for addresses where the cable hasn't reached.

On the residential side, Frogfoot's pricing tends to lead the market at entry-level - the 10/1 Mbps line through Webafrica is among the cheapest uncapped fibre packages in SA. The mid-tier 50/50 symmetric line is the usual sweet spot for video calls, gaming and remote work without paying for headroom you won't use.

Frogfoot's strength is the price floor - if you want the cheapest uncapped line in your suburb and Frogfoot is there, it's almost always the answer. For symmetric performance at scale, compare the 50/50 and 100/100 tiers across ISPs.

    Frequently asked questions

Frogfoot is owned by Vox but runs as an independent open-access network. Multiple ISPs sell on it - including Webafrica, Afrihost, Mweb, Vox itself, RSAWEB and Cool Ideas. Switching ISPs on the same Frogfoot line takes 24-72 hours and doesn't require a re-install.

Yes - every Frogfoot residential package is uncapped. There are no shaped or capped tiers. Throttling on heavy use is also not part of Frogfoot's residential product spec.

From the 50/50 Mbps tier upwards, every Frogfoot residential package is fully symmetrical (same upload as download). The entry-level 10/1 line is asymmetrical, which is why it's so cheap - it's designed for streaming and browsing, not heavy uploads.

Frogfoot is the underground/aerial fibre product. Frogfoot Air is a fixed-wireless service Frogfoot uses to bridge addresses where the cable hasn't reached yet - typically delivering 25-100 Mbps. Frogfoot Air customers are usually migrated onto fibre once the cable arrives.

Frogfoot has invested in battery and generator backup at most of its core network points and a growing share of its street cabinets. The line itself often stays up during stage 4-6 load shedding. You still need to power your own ONT and Wi-Fi router with a small UPS or inverter.

Once Frogfoot is lit in your suburb, the standard install window is 7-14 working days. Where new cable is needed (e.g. greenfield estates) allow 2-4 weeks. The on-site install itself takes 2-3 hours.
